Four drabbles here, so word count is pretty much exactly 400. I was inspired to write these by looking at the prompts given on Writerverse in LJ. First one is serious, second one is semi-serious, and last two are basically comedy. They're all more or less realism and such. Any comments much appreciated! Also, I think the last one is my personal favorite ;D

Here's another slightly older story that I actually wrote in Finnish first and then translated to English as a sort of exercise. It's funny though, because I'm not sure you can call it a proper translation when I translated it myself. Basically I more rewrote it in English, I suppose... But, yeah, anyway. A short story of the fantasy variety this time! I've been touching up my older stuff, so you may see more of it here. Or not. We'll see.

Title: The Girl and the Dragon (Original)
Genre: Fantasy
Summary: A small-town girl is relaxing on the beach after a long day when suddenly a gust of wind blows her hat away. She finds out that said gust originated from a huge, black dragon. Instead of eating her, it says "hello". What can a polite girl do but return the greeting?
Rating: G
Word Count: 2160 or thereabouts

So, I figured that the appropriate first story post would be this one. I went to my old writing blog, the one we don't mention, and salvaged this little feller from the depths of eternal oblivion. I also fixed it a bit and changed some things in accordance to Jax's review (thank you for that, by the way). All reviews and comments much appreciated! Also, just for clarity's sake: no stealing of my stuff shall be tolerated!

Title: Bird Talk (Original)
Genre: err, I'm not sure. Quirky character study, maybe? Also, realistic fiction.
Summary: An old man meets a friend of his in the park.
Rating: G. Absolutely no warnings whatsoever.
Word Count: A little under 1000 words

An old man sat down on the bench. It was a lovely Tuesday afternoon in the park; it was sunny, but not too hot or too bright. The park was rather large and very popular among the local people, but at this specific hour the morning joggers had long gone while the children hadn't yet gotten out of school, so the park was mostly empty. That was exactly why the old man had chose this time to meet with a friend. He loved the park, but he didn’t care much for noises. His ears were old and not as good anymore, and he found it was rather difficult to concentrate with much people chattering around him. He also couldn’t hear crickets anymore, which made him rather sad. Birds he could still hear, but most other sounds of the nature were no longer audible to his aging ears.

Sooo I needed a writing blog (yes, I had one, but we don't talk about that) and I was hearing all these good things about this place so ta-dah, writing journal it is!

My noble attempt - that I may or may not splendiferously fail at keeping up - is to post at least once a week with a short story, a very short story, a longer short story, or some kind of exercise-type piece of writing to keep up the skills and develop myself. You can probably expect complaining and other musings as well sometimes, but I'll try to keep it mostly writing.

If anyone happens to be interested in reading some of them sometimes, do follow/friend/add/watch/Dreamwidth equivalent me and maybe drop in a comment every now and then :3 I'll also be adding at least everyone I know and everyone who seems nice enough, so!

I really hope I'll be able to keep this up this time around. Anyone is perfectly welcome to kick or poke me a bit if I seem to be failing!

Writing blog is a goooooo!

Hello, o traveler!

You have stumbled upon the humble writings of a girl with lots of stories to tell. Whether these are stories you would like to hear I can't say, but hey, it never hurts to try! ;D

I'll try to keep updating this relatively often, but we'll see how that goes.
